Asia is a mysterious continent of dramatic landscapes, ancient cultures and historic landmarks. Though there are a countless number of sights and destinations worth visiting in Asia, there are a few landmarks that are especially romantic and perfect for vacationing couples.
#1-Angkor Wat, Cambodia
The temple complex of Angkor Wat is a true wonder of the ancient world. Inside its 155-square-mile archaeological park is a maze of crumbling temples connected by roads and tracks through the dense forest. Most of the temples are more than 800 years old and date to the time of the Khmer Empire. It's hard not to feel the romance when exploring this exotic site, as it's so remote and beautiful. Perhaps nowhere is the romanticism of Angkor Wat better revealed than in the ultimate scene of the Hong Kong film masterpiece “In The Mood for Love.”
#2-West Lake, China
Hangzhou's West Lake has been a draw for romantically minded couples for thousands of years. The lake's beauty is immortalized in countless poems and landscape portraits, and even today it's beauty is mesmerizing. The path around the lake is nine miles long and lined with cafes, restaurants, hotels, parks, temples, gardens and scenic spots. Romantic possibilities include taking a nighttime cruise on the lake, enjoying a nice dinner on the south side of the lake, or simply renting bicycles and cycling together.
#3-Bali, Indonesia
Bali is a tropical paradise with beautiful beaches, dense forests and a dramatic volcanic landscape. Bali is one of the few places in Indonesia that's predominantly Hindu, and because of this it has a number of temples and a somewhat unusual culture. Because of its cultural charms and immense natural beauty, Bali is a popular destination for honeymooners and destination weddings. Couples can stay at one of Bali's many luxury resorts or private villas and spend their days sightseeing and getting spa treatments.
#4-Taj Mahal, India
The Taj Mahal is one of the world’s best-known monuments and it doesn't disappoint. Built in the 17th century, this monumental structures was created to serve as a mausoleum for the wife of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan and is one of the most exemplary pieces of Islamic architecture in the world. The Taj Mahal is almost always packed with visitors, so the best time to visit is just before sunrise, as this is when the crowds are their smallest. The vivid colors of the sky at sunrise coupled with the beauty of the Taj Mahal make a visit incredibly romantic and unforgettable.
